The Rockies' top hitting prospect will likely have to wear protective equipment for the remainder of his career.
Colorado Rockies prospect David Dahl will miss the remainder of the 2015 season after undergoing successful surgery to repair a lacerated spleen on Thursday, according to Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan.
Dahl was involved in a collision with Double-A teammate Juan Ciriaco during the New Britain Rock Cats' 9-5 victory over the Altoona Curve. Dahl was immediately taken to a local hospital, where it was determined that surgery would be needed to fix a tear in his spleen.
