Players in the Rockies farm system seem to be getting quicker advancements this season.
Zach Wilson, Rockies director of player development, says players determine when they move up by their performance. That may be, but the instructors seem to be making quicker decisions.
“We don’t base our decisions on urgency,” Wilson said. “We might have more players right now showing they are ready for the opportunity to play at a higher level.”
Eight players have shown they are ready to play at a higher level and the season is just reaching the all-star break.
Touted outfielder David Dahl is the latest to move, having made his debut at Triple-A Albuquerque this week.
