The term “oft-injured” clings to David Dahl like a recurring bad dream.
Little wonder, then, that the center fielder reacted as he did during the sixth inning of an Aug. 2 game against San Francisco. Dahl broke quickly on Scooter Gennett’s sinking line drive to right-center, but the ball got caught in the wind and tailed away at the last moment. Although Dahl made the catch, his spikes stuck in the grass at Coors Field and his right ankle bent at a gruesome angle.
