Nick Groke of The Athletic reported late Monday night that Colorado Rockies pitching coach Steve Foster has stepped down from his duties.
Foster, who pitched for the Cincinnati Reds before a shoulder injury ended his career, joined the Rockies organization in 2015. Foster was part of a major overhaul in the Rockies’ big league pitching during his tenure, watching over the rise of players like Germán Márquez, Kyle Freeland, Antonio Senzatela, and Jon Gray.
Sources told The Athletic that Foster was stepping down to spend more time with his family, but there is a possibility he remains with the organization in some capacity.
