SAN DIEGO -- Noel Cuevas got his first home run in the Major Leagues against the Padres on Monday night. He smacked a solo shot off Padres starter Joey Lucchesi in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rockies ahead, 3-2.
Daniel Castro led off the fifth by punishing an elevated curveball by Lucchesi into the seats in left field. It was his first home run of the year, and first since the 2015 season. He started at second base in place of injured second baseman DJ LeMahieu.
