SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Cristhian Adames finally found a place in the Rockies infield last season, playing a career-high 121 games. But the 25-year-old now finds himself wobbling on the end of the roster. Colorado is now less needy for another utilityman.
He can still have fun, though. Adames on Wednesday got a hit-and-run call from third-base coach Stu Cole, then pushed a game-winning two-run home run to right field as the Rockies rallied past the visiting Milwaukee Brewers, 5-4, in front of 7,842 fans at Salt River Fields.
“I’m happy to be here,” Adames said.
