SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Rockies outfielder David Dahl knows what it’s like to play professional baseball in a nearly-empty stadium. He hated it. So he’s hoping the spread of the coronavirus doesn’t force Major League Baseball to take extreme steps.
“That would (stink),” Dahl said Tuesday. “We did that in Hartford (Conn.) one year. We had to play in New Hampshire in front of nobody. We didn’t have a home ballpark.”
That was in 2016, the year the Yard Goats were unable to play any games in Hartford because of construction delays at Dunkin’ Donuts Park.
