The opener of a three-game series between the Cubs and Rockies was postponed by rain and inclement weather at 7:56 p.m. (Mountain time) on Monday. Originally slated to begin at 6:40 p.m., the tarp only came off the field long enough to shake some water off of it. Other than that, the rain never let up enough to allow even the thought of the game to be played.
Colorado and the Cubs will now play a split day-night double-header on Tuesday. The first game will begin at 12:10 p.m. and the regularly scheduled night game will begin at 6:40 p.
