Flash forward a little over three weeks later, and the Colorado Rockies now sit only a half game back in the division with Arizona. They have an opportunity to increase that with a four-game series with a struggling San Diego Padres squad that currently has the worst record in the National League.
While it’s always exciting to look ahead (and something that we all know that we do), let’s instead reflect on those three weeks that brought us to this point, and how Colorado rallied to get here.
This stretch started with three straight victories over the Dodgers (first place at the time), all of which were one-run games that the Rockies would end up winning in the seventh inning or later.
