Like most early spring training games, this was an uneventful game as most of the players got in their one or two innings of work in before hitting the showers. However, there was one thing that got me excited about a baseball game in February: Taco’s!!! (yes, i said Taco’s, not Tacos).
For those who are unaware, Taco Bell runs a promotion during the Rockies’ regular season where every time the Rockies score 7 or more runs in a game, the following day tacos are sold at a discounted price at participating Taco Bell locations.
Even though Monday’s game didn’t count towards the Taco’s promotion, the game got me to look into one of my favorite stats: The Rockies’ record in games in which they score 7 or more runs.
