According to Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post, Colorado Rockies All-Star shortstop Trevor Story may be able to return to the Rockies lineup sooner than originally anticipated. After suffering a sprained thumb in a game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on June 19, it was thought that Story could possibly miss “multiple weeks.” Now that might not be the case.
Story is eligible to come off the injured list on June 29 and, according to Saunders in this article, that could actually happen. Story tells Saunders in the article that it’s “possible” he could return in time for the third and fourth games of a big four-game series against the Dodgers at Coors Field this weekend.
