The Colorado Rockies, before their game with the Los Angeles Dodgers at 5:15 PM MT that will be nationally televised on FOX, announced, in a shocking move, that they have optioned starter Jon Gray to Triple-A Albuquerque.
In a corresponding move, they recalled outfielder Raimel Tapia from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Gray, who will be 27 in November, has had a rough 2018 campaign as he has a 7-7 record with an ERA of 5.77 in 17 starts. His WHIP is 1.489 and he leads the National League in hits allowed (108) and earned runs allowed (59).
