According to a tweet from Alex Speier of The Boston Globe, the Colorado Rockies have signed former Boston Red Sox draft pick Nick Longhi to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training.
Longhi, who has played both first base and in the outfield, was drafted by the Red Sox in the 30th round of the 2013 MLB amateur draft and was in Boston’s minor league system (progressing as high as Double-A) before being traded to the Cincinnati Reds in July of 2017 in exchange for international amateur signing bonus pool space.
