The Rockies' bullpen has been nerve-racking this season, but Tommy Kahnle has been able to inject some confidence into the struggling relief corps.
Tommy Kahnle has been dominant out of the bullpen for the Rockies since his callup a few weeks ago. He's allowed just one run over 10.1 innings with 11 strikeouts and one walk. Kahnle came on in a high-leverage situation yesterday with one out and runners at first and third and was able to induce an inning-ending double play. Walt Weiss likes Kahnle in a late-inning role,
"If you look at our bullpen right now, that's where I have him slotted -- late in games to protect leads.
