One of the free agent signings and two of the contracts avoiding arbitration have have to deal with the Colorado Rockies.
- Jack Curry of the YES Network (the TV home of the Yankees) first reported this afternoon that the Yankees were close to signing former Rockies second baseman DJ LeMahieu to a two-year deal (in these two tweets). The second tweet is a very interesting tweet in that Curry says that the Yankees plan on using LeMahieu as a utility infielder, playing third base and first base in addition to second base.
