Memphis took the early momentum after a four-run fourth inning, but Albuquerque managed to battle back beginning with an RBI single from Cristhian Adames in the fifth inning to cut it to 4-1. Jeremy Barfield added a two-run double in the sixth to cut the lead to 4-3, but the Redbirds answered with a single tally in the home half the inning. Trevor Story cut the Isotopes deficit back to one when he scored on Roger Bernadina's groundout in the seventh, making it 5-4. Albuquerque managed to load the bases with two outs in the ninth, but a ground out ended the game.
