Helmis Rodriguez struck out five batters, worked around eight hits and a walk to earn his second victory of the season in the Asheville Tourists' 9-6 victory over Charleston on Wednesday.
Rodriguez (PuRP No. 23) was tagged for five runs, only three of which were earned as a result of five Asheville errors. Rodriguez committed two of those errors himself but did a surprisingly nice job limiting damage. Of the 15 outs he recorded, five were via strikeout and the remaining 10 were via ground balls. Rodriguez owns a 2.78 ERA through four starts.
Every hitter in Asheville's lineup had at least one hit with the exception of Wes Rogers, who went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts.
