Colorado Rockies pitching prospect Peter Lambert continued his hot start at Double-A Hartford, pitching seven shutout innings in the Yard Goats’ 5-1 win over the Harrisburg Senators. Lambert allowed six hits and no walks in his seven innings, striking out eight.
The right-hander and No. 4 PuRP, who turned 21 on Wednesday, now has a 1.69 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in his first three starts at Double-A, having allowed just three runs on 13 hits in 16 innings with four walks and 15 strikeouts. Continued dominance with the Yard Goats could put Lambert on the fast track to the big leagues, not unlike current Rockies Germán Márquez and Antonio Senzatela.
