The Colorado Rockies have placed outfielder Charlie Blackmon on the 15-day disabled list with turf toe and recalled catcher Dustin Garneau from Triple-A Albuquerque, the team announced today.
Blackmon was hitting .185/.241/.333 in 29 plate appearances in 2016, he was 2-for-5 with a double and a triple in last night's 10-6 win over the Giants in which he was pulled from the game in the ninth inning. This is the second time in his career that Blackmon has dealt with turf toe, the first time coming in 2013, a season that saw him bounce between the Rockies and Triple-A Colorado Springs.
