The Pacific Coast League offices announced their player of the month for the month of May on Tuesday and the winner of that was none other than Rockies outfielder Mike Tauchman.
Of all players in Triple-A, Tauchman had the most hits (44), total bases (81), and runs (31) while batting .379 (44-for-116) in a total of 29 games. In addition, Tauchman had 19 extra-base hits, including eight home runs, and 24 RBI, which was good enough for second-best in the PCL.
Tauchman also had an on-base perccentage of .426 and a .698 slugging percentage. Combined, that made his OPS 1.
