Winners of five of their last seven games, the Isotopes now find themselves in first place in their division after hovering near the cellar for the first month of the season. Averaging 6.5 runs a game over a week usually translates into good things.
Top pitching prospect Jeff Hoffman threw his second straight good outing this week. In a game against El Paso, Hoffman tossed six innings, yielding two earned runs. As a reward for the quality start, Hoffman secured his second victory of the year. Hoffman is now 2-2 with a respectable 3.71 ERA in the hitter-friendly PCL.
