The Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks faced off on Independence Day, with the Rockies trying to win after dropping the first two games of the series.
The Arizona Diamondbacks held a two-run lead for most of the game, eventually scoring three more runs in the bottom of the eighth after a Colorado Rockies’ rally, and defeated the visiting Rockies 7-3 on Saturday night, the beneficiaries of two Rockies’ errors in a game that now pushes Colorado to 34-47 on the season.
The Diamondbacks started the fun in the bottom of the first inning off Rockies’ starter David Hale with a Yasmany Tomas RBI groundout, followed by an RBI single from Jake Lamb to make the game 2-0.
