Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland was removed from his start on Thursday after 6.1 innings of work with a cramp in his calf. The injury is not expected to cost Freeland any time. His next start is slated to come on Tuesday in Los Angeles against the Dodgers.
Freeland was 2-for-3 at the plate on Thursday, logging an RBI double on a deep blast to center field and then putting down a bunt for a fourth-inning single. He would eventually score in that frame on an RBI double by David Dahl.
