First, Tyler Anderson‘s bad year seemingly keeps getting worse. Nick Groke of The Athletic is reporting that the Colorado Rockies left-hander will undergo knee surgery in Chicago on Tuesday to repair cartilage. It is described as a “significant operation,” meaning Anderson won’t be returning to the Colorado rotation any time soon.
Could that mean the 29-year-old Anderson is done for the year? It’s possible, depending on the extent of the surgery. He has made just five starts so far this season, throwing 20.2 combined innings and posting an 11.76 ERA.
