I remember it like it was yesterday … because it was yesterday. The Rockies were up to bat and Desi is due up. The camera gives us a nice shot of him walking to the batter’s box and he was doing his regular pre-at-bat ritual. I didn’t pay too much attention to that I was checking the Rox Pile Twitter (shameless plug @RoxPileFS) as they were live tweeting the game. That’s when it happened.
I look up from my phone to see that Ian Desmond was not only in the batter’s box but he also brought a friend with him.
