In the middle of German Marquez‘s bid to become the second player in Colorado Rockies franchise history to throw a no-hitter, I did the unthinkable and alerted some friends of the possible history that was in the making. This, of course, set the jinx in motion. No less than two batters later, Evan Longoria hit a single into left field, breaking up the no-no after 7.1 innings of untouchable work.
To give a sense of where my mind was at, here is a little bit of background. I am involved in a group text with a small group of friends where a wide range of sports are discussed.
