After taking last night’s game 9-5, the Colorado Rockies will look to win the series against the Chicago Cubs tonight in the quest to avoid a second-straight 100-loss season. They have 14 games remaining, and need to go 7-7 to avoid the century mark.
Kyle Freeland (5-7, 4.97 ERA) will take the mound for the Rockies. In his last outing against the Milwaukee Brewers, Freeland threw six innings and allowed just one unearned run on three hits with four strikeouts and zero walks. Freeland pitched against the Cubs in April at Wrigley Field, but unfortunately the results weren’t as nice.
