The first game in Detroit was one the Colorado Rockies would rather soon forget. For the first time in club history, the team sent the 27-batter minimum to the plate in a nine-inning game and were shut out for the 15th time this season. The team mustered just three hits and will now look to change their fortunes in Game Two.
Tanner Gordon (0-5, 7.55 ERA) will make the start having just been recalled while Austin Gomber was placed on paternity leave. Gordon has had a mixed bag of results in his seven big league starts, working at least five innings in four starts while limiting walks and generally throwing strikes.
