After a 3-0 loss on Friday night, the Colorado Rockies bounced back yesterday with a 9-2 clubbing of the New York Yankees. It was Bud Black’s 1,160th game managed at the helm of the Rox, passing Clint Hurdle for most games in franchise history. He has won 524 games, the second-most in franchise history, trailing Hurdle’s 534. If the Rockies win only 10 more games this season to give Black that record, they will still lose 104 games.
That said, Austin Gomber (4-8, 4.64 ERA) takes the mound for the Rox. In his last outing against the Washington Nationals on Tuesday, Gomber earned his fourth win of the year.
