After avoiding a sweep at the hands of the A’s by way of a Thursday evening victory, the Rockies will attempt to turn in their first winning streak of the season when they head down to California to play the San Diego Padres over the weekend.
To that end, Colorado will send Germán Márquez (0-1, 2.45 ERA) to the mound. Márquez has turned in two starts this season - one excellent, and one solid but shaky. His last time out saw the veteran right-hander allow six walks, and he was lucky to escape having allowed just three earned runs.
