After an insanely busy Trade Deadline, the Rockies and Padres will do battle on Friday night in game two of a four-game series.
It came as a bit of a surprise to Rockies fans that neither starter Jon Gray (6-6, 3.67 ERA) nor shortstop Trevor Story were moved at the trade deadline. Many thought they’d be flipped for a prospect haul to restock the Colorado minor league system. With no trades done, both will be present as the Rockies take on the Padres following their 3-0 loss on Thursday.
Historically, Gray has done well against the Padres.
