In the first game of this nine-game swing in California, the Rockies offense exploded for nine runs. In the three games since, they’ve combined for four runs and the bats will need to come back to life if the Rockies want to get any more wins on this road trip.
On the bright side, Austin Gomber (7-5, 3.74 ERA) will be back on the mound for the Rockies. After missing a month with left forearm tightness, Gomber returned to the rotation on July 20 and gave up three runs on three hits (all three homers) in six innings with three strikeouts to earn the win.
