Giancarlo Stanton homered, doubled and drove in four runs to lead the Miami Marlins to a 4-1 victory over the Colorado Rockies at Marlins Park on Saturday.
Stanton opened the scoring with a two-run double off of Rockies starter David Hale in the first inning. Hale allowed a single and a walk before serving the shot to center field, which missed clearing the wall by just a matter of feet.
Hale settled in, keeping the Marlins off the board through the fifth inning. But Stanton struck again in the sixth, following Christian Yelich's leadoff single with a line-drive homer that landed just inside the left field foul pole.
