The Rockies moved Nick Hundley to the 60-day disabled list Friday, with a neck injury that has kept him off the field since September 6th. Hundley appeared in 136 games in his first year with the Rockies, putting up his best career numbers at the plate. The eight-year veteran hit .301/.339/.467 with 10 homers and 21 doubles.
Nick Groke of The Denver Post has quotes from Hundley and manager Walt Weiss on the news for the Rockies’ catcher.
Taking the freed spot on the 40-man is Triple-A catcher -- and Rockies’ No. 12 prospect -- 24-year old Tom Murphy.
