Colorado Rockies activate Charlie Blackmon, option Brandon Barnes

Ahead of a ten game road trip the Colorado Rockies have activated former all-star and starting centerfielder Charlie Blackmon. The Rockies leadoff hitter has been sidelined for just over two weeks with a turf toe.

Blackmon, who has a had a rough first week to the season had been battling turf toe in his left foot. In eight games Blackmon hit .185 with three extra base hits, three runs batted in and one stolen base. He took a short rehab assignment at High-A Modesto, playing two games and going one-for-eight at the plate. The Rockies centerfielder had a fantastic 2015 where he batted .
