It is usually a good thing when the pattern of wins becomes familiar in a season, and the Rockies 4-2 win over the Padres on Saturday sure felt familiar.
The Rockies 73rd win of the season was a lot like the first 72, get a strong start from their pitcher, in this case Jon Gray, get production from the middle of the order, and let Adam Ottavino and Wade Davis close things down (with some help from Scott Oberg in this case.) That formula was missing from the first two games in San Diego, but it returned in Saturday’s win.
