The Colorado Rockies used a first-inning rally and another solid pitching performance from Tim Melville to snap a nine-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over the San Diego Padres.
Charlie Blackmon brought Trevor Story home with an RBI single and scored on a Ryan McMahon ground out, giving the Rockies a 2-0 lead in the first inning. They added another run in the second when Story singled to score Dom Nunez. Starting pitcher Tim Melville and four Rockies relievers made the early 3-0 lead hold up to get their first win in 10 days.
