Let’s let legendary (fictitious) Indians manager Lou Brown describe where the Rockies stand after Friday’s 12-2 win over the Reds:
The Rockies have now won back-to-back games for the first time since June 29 thanks to a strong start from German Márquez and a pair of early home runs against Reds All-Star Luis Castillo. There were also a pair of double plays and a nice catch from Charlie Blackmon behind Márquez to preserve the Rockies lead.
Daniel Murphy had his best game in a Rockies uniform, going 2-for-5 with a home run, a double and 6 RBI.
