In the span of one week, superstar Nolan Arenado managed a .458 batting average, four homers, and 13 RBI’s in route to his fourth N.L. player of the week award. No. 28 went out the very next night and proved he was worth the honor.
With two outs in the bottom of the first, Arenado went full extension for the diving, Superman-like, catch, robbing St. Louis Cardinals’ second baseman Kolten Wong of a base hit. The spectacular play, however, came in vein as the Cards punished the Rox 8-2 en route to a 3-game series sweep.
The play of the week honors is the second for the Rockies’ as a club this season; Charlie Blackmon was awarded the title back in May.
