Chi Chi Gonzalez will start the second game of Colorado’s doubleheader against the Giants on Monday at Coors Field. The right-hander is set to be recalled from the club, with another roster move forthcoming.
In another pregame move, the Rockies brought up right-hander Yency Almonte as the club’s 26th man. Per major league rules, teams are allowed to call up a 26th man for doubleheaders. Right-hander Dereck Rodriguez takes the mound as the Giants’ 26th man for the 6:40 p.m. game, while Gonzalez gets the call from Triple-A Albuquerque for the Rockies.
