Colorado-born twins Tyler and Taylor Rogers etched their names into baseball history on Tuesday night, as Tyler debuted for the Giants to make the brothers just the tenth set of twins to ever play in the majors.
Tyler, called up earlier Tuesday from Triple-A Sacramento, threw a scoreless inning in San Francisco’s loss to the Diamondbacks at Oracle Park. Meanwhile, over on the south side of Chicago, Taylor earned his 21st save of the season for Minnesota with a scoreless inning about 30 minutes prior to his twin’s debut.
The 28-year-olds are Chatfield High School alums, and they’ve had contrasting paths to the majors.
