Charlie Blackmon, the Rockies’ all-star center fielder, was scratched from Tuesday night’s game against San Diego because of a tight right quadriceps, the club announced.
It will be the second game this season that Blackmon was pulled out of the starting lineup because of injury. Blackmon missed Sunday’s game against Atlanta after suffering through increasing back tightness during Saturday night’s extra-inning win over the Braves. Blackmon was back in the starting lineup on Monday.
Last week, Blackmon signed a $108 million contract that could potentially keep him in a Rockies uniform through 2023.
