SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Rockies right-handed reliever Chad Qualls suffered an elbow injury in his last appearance nearly two weeks ago and will not return to a Cactus League game any time soon, Colorado manager Bud Black said Sunday.
Qualls, 38, is experiencing “elbow discomfort,” Black said, and the Rockies do not have a timeline for his return.
“We have been very cautious with him,” Black said.
Qualls last threw in a game on March 1. In two appearances this spring, he threw two hitless innings, with one walk. He is on the second year of a two-year, $6 million deal.
