Chad Bettis returning to Rockies' starting rotation against Braves

ATLANTA — After missing more than a month with right-elbow inflammation, right-hander Chad Bettis will return to the rotation to face the Braves on Tuesday.

Bettis was placed on the 15-day disabled list July 19. He made rehab starts Aug. 15 and Aug. 20 and pitched a total of 8 innings, allowing five hits and two walks and striking out 11.

"He's throwing the ball real well for us," said Rockies manager Walt Weiss. "His rehab outings, he threw the ball well. We feel like he's 100 percent and healthy, so he should just continue to do what he's been doing for us.
