Carlos Gonzalez signs minor league deal with Cubs after being released by Indians

Carlos Gonzalez, a LoDo fan favorite who spent a decade with the Rockies, isn’t done playing ball quite yet.

Four days after being released by the Indians, whom Gonzalez signed with shortly before the season began, the outfielder is getting another big-league chance with the Cubs.

Gonzalez, who posted a .210 average with a 28.2 percent strikeout rate in 30 games for Cleveland this year, will start with Triple-A Iowa on a minor league deal, according to multiple reports.

“CarGo” could find his way back to the majors soon as a left-handed bat off the bench for Chicago.
