SAN DIEGO -- At Petco Park, where the late Padres broadcaster Jerry Coleman would see a good play and say, "You can hang a star on that one," Rockies right fielder Carlos Gonzalez made a 5-star catch, according to Statcast™, in the third inning of Wednesday night's game against the Padres.
Gonzalez dashed inward for Austin Hedges' leadoff line drive against Rockies right-hander Jon Gray and made a full dive before making an impressive grab. The play had a catch probability of 8 percent, as Gonzalez covered 41 feet in three seconds to rob Hedges.
