CINCINNATI -- The Rockies have taken their home run show on the road, and Carlos Gonzalez is the star.
On Tuesday night in the series opener against the Reds, that barrage continued when they homered twice in the first seven frames, highlighted by Gonzalez's mammoth blast to center field off Reds lefty Wandy Peralta putting the Rockies ahead, 9-1. Despite playing at Coors Field, a notorious homer haven, the Colorado has hit 42 of its 72 homers this season on the road.
With two runners on, Gonzalez launched Peralta's 3-2 pitch an estimated 473 feet, according to Statcast™, to dead center field, tying Bryce Harper for the sixth longest home run in the Majors this season.
