Before Thursday's series finale against Arizona, Rockies manager Walt Weiss said reliever Rafael Betancourt (vertigo symptoms) will likely be activated over the weekend and added that Carlos Gonzalez (sprained left hand) should return to the starting lineup versus the Giants as well.
Gonzalez didn't start each of the first two games against Arizona, but he checked in as a defensive replacement in the eighth inning of Wednesday's contest. Gonzalez wasn't in Thursday's starting lineup either, but Weiss said the Rockies' outfielder could make another late-game appearance.
"He's getting better every day, so he's close to being back in there," Weiss said.
