The Cardinals beat the Rockies 6-3 in a laborious nine-inning contest in St. Louis Wednesday night. Seriously, Yadier Molina could beat this game in a foot race.
Kyle Freeland had a decent start, but he wasn’t really sharp. He labored through 51⁄3 innings, ultimately throwing 112 pitches. The only time he threw more pitches in a start was in his almost no-hitter against the White Sox last year. The Cardinals had nine hits against him, although it only amounted to three runs. Those three runs were enough for the Cardinals to come away with the win.
