SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Beaches and baseball, a match made in baseball heaven.
And Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
The popular New England coast town has long attracted visitors as a vacation destination, but for college baseball prospects across the country, that’s only part of the draw. The Cape Cod Baseball League is home to some of the top collegiate talent and many Rockies have experienced it first hand.
“It’s just a perfect place to be playing baseball,” Rockies left-hander pitcher Kyle Freeland said.
There are 15 current Rockies who were on a Cape Cod League roster at one time or another.
